Today's episode of Koffee With Karan 7 opens with the host, Karan Johar, welcoming actors Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani to his show as perfect buds with beauty and skill.

Kriti Sanon refused the lead role in Lust Stories because her mother didn’t approve
Soon after their welcome in the show, Karan talks about how great Kiara Advani as an actress is. Talking about her professional career, he appreciates her roles in Kabir Singh and Lust Stories. He says that it was very bold of Kiara to take the role, despite knowing that it required her to feel orgasm on screen. In fact, Karan reveals that he first presented the lead role of Lust Stories to Kriti Sanon and that the former Mimi actress denied the role because her mother didn’t allow her to feel pleasure on screen.
Kabir Singh: A watershed moment in the duo's careers
After talking about her role in Lust Stories, Karan questions Kiara and Shahid about their chemistry in Kabir Singh. It is the remake of the former movie Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Devarakonda and Shalini Pandey, he asked if it was that hard to get into character and work on the film only to exceed audiences' expectations.
Kiara says that it was tough for her to get into character. Nonetheless, it was an utter surprise that the movie did well. However, she had to battle both positive and negative criticism about the movie, especially from the South Indian audience, but somehow, knowing that Shahid was in the same boat helped her work on it.
For Shahid, it was more about defying his moral values. Accepting a role that was the polar opposite of what he had previously done in films that only portrayed the lead in composing behavior was extremely difficult. But it somehow really worked for him. He realized that men who are considered not conventionally composed are still good.
Relationships are all about understanding each other
After the crisp conversation with Kabir Singh, Karan questions Kiara about her relationship with Siddharth Malhotra. She cheekily tries to avoid the question, only to find Shahid teasing her about Sidharth. She finally confirms on public television that she is dating Sid after many attempts.
Last year, Sidharth and Kiara worked on the movie Shershaah. That was the first time the duo had met. Since then, there have been rumors about them dating. The couple has been spotted many times by the paparazzi.
Karan and Shahid further question Kiara about the odds of her getting married to Sid. She says that even though she does believe in the institution of marriage because she has seen her parents happy throughout their lives, it would be a bit early to comment on her future.
Karan questions Shahid about his relationship with his wife, Mira. Shahid says that marrying Mira helped him grow in both his personal and professional lives. She surely helps bring out the best in him. He ends the note joyfully, saying though he misses being single, there is nothing about his marriage life that he would want to change ever.
Jersey didn’t exceed my expectations says, Shahid
Taking about relationships unknowingly shifts Shahid to reflect upon his latest release, Jersey, a former remake of the Telugu movie Jersey, starring Nani. He says that he is not happy because the movie was not a huge success that he expected it to be. Releasing it on the OTT platform was a bad decision that he regrets.
BINGO: Kiara accepts bitch slapping a co-star
After reflecting upon professional careers, Karan now asks the due to play a game of BINGO to unveil some of their secrets.
Coming to Kiara, she accepts bitch slapping Shahid because he took eight hours to discuss what shoes to wear for a scene in the song Bekhayali on the sets of Kabir Singh. Though Shahid takes a defensive stance, he ends up apologizing to her for the same.
Next, talking about embarrassing herself at a party, Kiara accepts hugging Sujoy Ghosh when he actually lifts his hand to call someone at Juhi Chawla’s success party for the movie I Am. Juhi Chawla, being a close family friend and the one who invited Kiara to the party, was amazed to see what Kiara was doing.
Then, talking about hating a gift that was given, she says someone gave her a stuffed toy that she completely hates. She says she loves thoughtful gifts and is not a big fan of stuffed animals.
She accepts a few other things while playing BINGO; lying about her relationship status, finding a dumb excuse to text her ex, and going to a strip club, which are not elaborated upon or talked about in the show.
BINGO: Shahid accepts having a shameful guilty pleasure
After elaborating on Kiara’s BINGO list, Karan now comes to reading Shahid’s BINGO list.
The first surprising thing that Shahid accepts is having had a crush on a teacher back in the day. Though it was a silly thing now that he thinks about it, it felt cute back then.
Then, he accepts applying makeup to cover a hickey. He says nothing is in control when you get physical with someone. Thus, this happened many times in life.
He accepts that some members of Mira’s family never approved of him and their relationship because of the age difference. Since Mira was 13 years younger than he was, it was always difficult for them to work out with each other’s families. But as love always finds a way, they did too.
Bitching slapping a co-star, role-playing in bed, making a stupid excuse to text an ex, being at a strip club, not speaking to a partner for more than a week, sending a racy text to the wrong person, hating a gift given by bae, cringing while watching his performance on screen, and having a shameful guilty pleasure are some other things he accepts which are not elaborated in the show.
Rapid fire: Varun Dhawan should be a stripper says, Kiara Advani
After a juicy game of BINGO, Kiara and Shahid play rapid fire.
Starting with Kiara Advani, the game starts off with a smooth start. When asked what her life would be titled if it were a movie, Kiara chooses Shershaah over all others.
Then, when it came to questions about talents, she says that Varun Dhawan should be a stripper, Siddharth Malhotra should be a singer, and Vicky Kaushal should be a Punjabi rapper.
Through the game, we also get to know that Shahid is Kiara’s best male actor friend and that his pet name for her is Preeti. Not only that, we get to know that Kiara Advani looks up to Alia Bhatt for a lot of things.

Moving on to Shahid, Karan plays rapid fire with him for the seventh time.
The same starts off smoothly with the same. Shahid Kapoor says that Rocky Bhai is the most talented actor in Bollywood. Taking about movies starring Shahid that Mira hates, he tells the audience that Mira did not like Shandaar.
Furthermore, he says that being an introvert and overthinking are a few things that pull him back in life and, therefore, must be worked upon.
He ends the rapid-fire by saying that acting worked only after his first movie because he thought it wouldn’t work for him when he was a dancer.
Despite Shahid's honest and crisp answers, the audience vote for Kiara Advani, and thus, she wins the rapid fire.
Buzzer round: press the buzzer to impress
After Kiara’s not-so-grand win in rapid fire, the duo plays a buzzer round.
The game starts with Karan asking the pair for a four-letter word that starts with F and ends with K, to which Shahid responds with a fork and wins the round. Then, he asks them about Akshay Kumar’s first Khiladi movie, to which Shahid responds, "Khiladi" and takes the lead. Then, he asks for Singapore’s capital, to which Kiara responds, "Singapore" and opens her score account.
The game continues. Despite Kiara’s performance, Shahid plays witty and wins the buzzer round.
Hard work is everything
Once done with the buzzer round, the duo ends the show and emphasizes the importance of handwork to become successful in both personal and professional lives.
